Dear Pastor and Church,
|
| |
Grace be unto you and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. July marks our Nation’s freedom. As the country becomes overrun with unpatriotic emotionalism and political and religious division, I can still stand and say that I am proud to be an American. I’d rather live here than anywhere else on earth! As we approach our Nation’s Independence Day, let us who name the name of Christ never forget that just as it took the lives of men, women, and children to secure our freedom as a nation, it also took the life of the only Son of God to secure our freedom from sin! Remember what the Scriptures say in Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Thank God for Christ who has set us free from the prison cell of condemnation! Thank God I am FREE, FREE, FREE from this world of sin!

We started off the month of June by traveling to Rich Square, NC to be with Grace Baptist Church for their annual homecoming and revival. We preached Sunday through Wednesday and every service the Lord gave us liberty to preach and there was good response to each message. It was a joy and blessing to be with Grace Baptist and Pastor and Mrs. Lockwood. We would like to thank them for the good accommodations and the fellowship. We look forward to being with them again in the future.
The following week, June 14-20 we held a tent revival at Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Pastor Len Maske and the people at Amazing Grace are a blessing to us. Each year we hold a tent revival there and it is always a blessed meeting and a good time of fellowship. There is nothing quite like an old fashion tent revival and God moved in each service. We would like to thank the church for their faithfulness to our ministry and to the Lord.

The following week we were in camp meeting at our home church in Charlotte, NC. Camp meeting time is always a highlight of the year with preachers traveling from across the states and missionaries from foreign fields attending the services. Services were held in the morning and evening throughout the week. The Lord allowed us to preach Wednesday morning and Thursday evening of the meeting. It is always a blessing to be with other men of God to have a time of refreshing and reviving. We would like to thank the people at Independent Bible Baptist Church for all the meals that were provided and the work that goes on behind the scenes to make camp meeting possible.

On the 29th of June we traveled to Concord, NC to be with Pastor Mike Mullis and Near Calvary Baptist Church. We met Pastor Mullis under our tent earlier in the month. It was a joy to be in service at Near Calvary. Sunday morning was youth Sunday and the young people ran the service. The singing and testimonies were a blessing and the Lord gave us good liberty to preach. At the invitation the altar was full with young and old alike. The evening service followed suit with good singing by the choir and good liberty to both worship and preach. It’s refreshing to be in a church were “Amen’s” aren’t out of place!
Monday, the 30th of June we traveled to Greer, SC to be in service at the Greer Baptist Camp Meeting. It was a blessing to be around old-time Christian folk and the singing and preaching was Spirit-filled. Thank God for some unchanging Christians in the mist of an ever-changing world!
